Principal’s Message

Dear Skipwith Families,

Welcome to Skipwith Elementary School! We are excited to begin the 2026–2027 school year and to welcome all of our Cardinals—both new and returning—back to the nest. This year, we proudly continue our theme, “Skipwith Cardinals SOAR Together,” as we work side by side to create a school where every student, every day is supported, engaged, and inspired to achieve their very best.

At Skipwith, we are deeply committed to ensuring that each child grows academically, socially, and emotionally. A core part of that commitment is our focus on reading, writing, listening, and speaking. These foundational skills are woven into every classroom, every subject, and every learning experience. Through high-quality instruction and meaningful student engagement, we empower our students to think critically, express themselves clearly, and build confidence as learners.

You will see classrooms where students are actively engaged—asking questions, collaborating with peers, and applying their learning in purposeful ways. Our teachers are dedicated to creating environments where students feel seen, valued, and supported, because we know that when children feel safe, connected, and encouraged, they truly SOAR.

Our theme, SOAR Together, reflects our shared commitment to:

• Building a strong and connected school community

We also know that a successful school year is built on a strong partnership between school and home. We encourage you to get involved—join our PTA, attend school events, and stay connected with your child’s learning. Your involvement plays an important role in making Skipwith a vibrant and supportive place for all students.
